all about
Experiencing a Chemical Peel
A chemical peel is a professional exfoliating treatment designed to resurface the skin by removing dead cells and stimulating renewal. Using carefully selected acids tailored to your skin type and concerns, this treatment helps improve texture, even out skin tone, reduce breakouts, and enhance overall radiance. Whether you're targeting fine lines, hyperpigmentation, or acne, a chemical peel reveals a smoother, healthier complexion with minimal downtime.

Prior to your chemical peel appointment we advise you to do the following:
- 2 days prior to your appointment discontinue the usage of Retinol and Exfoliating Products.
- 24-hours before your appointment no hot saunas, excessive heat and intensive exercise.
Chemical Peels can NOT be performed on any client who is pregnant, nursing, currently taking accutane, sunburned or has any open wounds or lesions.
Those currently under the care of a physician or have a history of keloid scarring, diabetes, autoimmune disease, active herpes blister or any other existing condition should be advised of potential for these conditions to interfere with the outcome of chemical peel treatments.
Level 1
There is no downtime for a level 1 chemical peel. You should avoid the use of your active products such as retinol and exfoliants for 2 days after your treatment and excessive heat for at least 24 hours. Wear your sunscreen daily.
Level 2
There is no major downtime for a level 2 chemical peel. You should avoid the use of your active products such as retinol and exfoliants for 2 days after your treatment and excessive heat for at least 24 hours.
Be committed to wearing your sunscreen. You may or may not experience light skin flaking, for that we recommend using an enzyme mask 3-4 days after your treatment to assist with sloughing off those skin cells.
Level 3
There is no major downtime for a level 3 chemical peel. You should avoid the use of your active products such as retinol and exfoliants for 2 days after your treatment and excessive heat.
Be committed to wearing your sunscreen. You may or may not experience mild skin flaking, for that we recommend using an enzyme mask 3-4 days after your treatment to assist with sloughing off those skin cells.
Advanced Peel
Advanced peels do require more downtime and post-treatment care. It is important to keep your products simple with a gentle cleanser and hydrating products and the daily usage of sunscreen. You should avoid the use of your active products such as retinol and exfoliants for 4-5 days after your treatment and excessive heat for at least 48 hours.
You may or may not experience major skin flaking, it is important to keep your skin hydrated and to not pull at the skin flakes or try to rub them off. We recommend using an enzyme mask 6-7 days after your treatment to assist with sloughing off the remaining skin flaking.
Chemical Peels Level 1-3 can be done year-round, but it is important to be mindful of what is going on in your life. We do not recommend getting a chemical peel a few days before a vacation that you will be spending a lot of time outdoors.
Advanced Peels are performed during peel season which is generally October-April. We recommend planning ahead for Advanced peels as they require some downtime, see previous question for more details about post-treatment care.
