Extractions are performed with the esthetician wearing gloves, using either cotton-wrapped fingers for manual extractions, a sanitized extraction tool, dermasound tool that uses ultrasonic vibrations, or a disposable lancet for closed comedones.

Anyone who is experiencing breakouts both blackheads (open comedones) and whiteheads (closed comedones or pustules) can benefit from an extractions treatment.
There is no preparation time for an extractions treatment.
Following an extractions treatment your skin might have some red marks, this is normal and they will fade over the next 24 hours. It is important to not pick at or touch the skin following the treatment to encourage good healing.
If other breakouts come to the surface, we recommend spot treating with benzoyl peroxide. Your esthetician can direct you in this product suggestion and use.
